Alongside the more newsworthy arrival of a global pandemic, the tenth full length lp from Throwing Muses was released in 2020. I’ve been part of this band since high school in 1983 when I agreed to fill in on drums for a demo recording after their previous drummer quit. Me joining this band was unplanned and unexpected. It was simply me stumbling upon two of the best songwriters of my generation in the halls of Rogers High School. A winning ticket.

I’ve learned most of what I know about life through this experience. Hell, I grew up in Throwing Muses. It’s been so intricately bound to my adolescence and my adulthood that I’m sometimes surprised when I’m referred to as a musician. It just feels like my life. I have so much to be grateful for when I think of the experiences this has given me. Honestly, spoiled.
